With the exciting announcement of the Mirai, the world felt a similar sense of hope that was felt when the Toyota Prius was first announced. After the Prius was discovered to be something consumers could get behind, other car makers brought their own versions to the market. Now there wasn't just one car that offered a green alternative to travel, there were many.
Toyota had a hidden gem though, and when the Mirai was unveiled, it blew the competition out of the water. No other hydrogen-powered car is on the market, and at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Toyota showed a more in-depth look at the science behind the Mirai.
Do you think other automakers will be following Toyota's lead this time? How long do you think it will be before we see a wave of hydrogen-powered cars? Check out the video from the CES which shoes a little of what we should expect from the Mirai.
