Final Fight, the last competition of the Formula Drift season, is set to take place this weekend, October 9 - 10, at Irwindale Speedway in Irwin, California. Last year, Fredric Aasbo, driver of a tC, finished the season in second place. This year, he leads the field, and is in a good position to achieve a 10-year goal of clinching the top prize.

FR-S driver, Ken Gushi, heads into the weekend in second place. “The momentum is definitely on our side,” he said in a recent interview. “All season the FR-S has performed at optimal levels, and I’m hoping Fredric and I will be standing next to one another on the podium at Irwindale.”

Originating in Japan, drifting is a high-powered motorsport that emphasizes car control skill. Drivers compete in knockout heats, sliding sideways around a closed course, earning points for style and speed.
