When you think about the ultimate city car for the Chicago roads, what vehicles pop into your mind? You want a car that can weave through crowded streets, slide into the smallest parking spots, and cruise for miles and miles without stopping at the gas pump. How about the best-selling Toyota Prius? There are tons of reasons that drivers love driving their Prius in Chicago, and we're happy to share every one! Read on to see why the Toyota Prius is the perfect vehicle for the urban streets, and then visit Chicago Northside Toyota to test out our new inventory for yourself!
Efficiency
When you drive around Chicago, you want to soak up all the sights and sounds - not search every corner for a gas station. As millions of hybrid owners already know, the Toyota Prius is one of the most efficient vehicles around! While it generates an exceptional 50 mpg on the highway, its city fuel economy figures are even stronger at 54 mpg. You'll get the best of both worlds: gas-powered muscle and electric efficiency. The result is a greener ride with fewer emissions and fewer fueling expenses. It's a win-win situation.
Size
When you're cruising through the streets of Chicago, bigger isn't always better. Imagine trying to parallel park on narrow streets in a sprawling SUV or squeezing into a crowded parking garage with a powerhouse pickup. The Prius is the ideal size for city driving. It's compact enough to handle small parking spaces and narrow lanes, but it's spacious enough to pack full of luggage or shopping bags without an issue. Just use the 60/40 rear seats to seat up to five passengers or unlock up to 65.5 cubic feet of cargo space.
Safety
As we all know, city driving can be hectic. But luckily, Toyota equipped the Toyota Prius with just the right safety features to handle the hustle and bustle of busy Chicago traffic. Check out the following features:
- Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control allows you to set a following distance, and your Prius will automatically slow and speed up to match surrounding traffic.
- The available Intelligent Clearance Sonar and Intelligent Parking Assist help guide you into a parking spot by scanning your immediate surroundings for obstacles, sounding an alert if anything is found.
- The available Blind Spot Mirror keeps an eye on your blind spot, and it flips on an indicator light if a vehicle is approaching to avoid collision.
